MAGA folks in blue states should not cling to the belief that their neighbors (you know, the "Demonrats") can be taxed enough to bail them out from the federal cuts to services. As much as our governor wants to protect our citizens, Washington state is broke.

Two things I remember learning in school that were precious characteristics of the United States: 1. Peaceful transfer of power. 2. The Canada-United States border is the longest and most peaceful international border in the world. Trump is destroying both of these. What have we become?

I was looking up information on my grandfather, who was a fireman in Paterson, and came across this photo of him. He is on the ladder. What struck me was the big headline on the page about turmoil in Gaza. 1957.
