Looking hard for the beauty in everyday life & everyday people. I follow accounts that make me think and/or snort laugh.

Mom of 3/wife of 1/ teacher of ...lost count years ago. Democrat. Agnostic (mostly). Lover of books, movies, travel & new experiences.
My soon to be DIL made these for me for Mother's Day. I commissioned some sets from her to give as gifts at Christmas. She's customizing them for the intended recipients. (Bees/wildflowers, cakes, etc.) I'm trying to convince her she should make them to sell.

In a slightly different vein, this is one of my favorite road signs ever. I turned around and drove back, just to get a picture of it.

Is it just me, or does every day he look more and more like Hoggle from Labyrinth?

The circle is where the tree stood. The three poles marking the corner are new, too. Ugly. Ugly.

In S. Tepper's The Gate to Women's Country, society has broken down along w/ global trade routes. Vanilla is no longer available. I read this years ago & it has stuck with me that vanilla, so common now that it has become synonymous w/ mundane or boring, highlights what a wondrous time we live in.

Every 3 - 4 years, when the weather is just right, we get a magnificent show. Usually though, it starts to warm, the tree starts to bud, I frantically whisper, "Not yet. Not yet," then we get a final freeze. And end up with a tree covered in mucky brown gloop. ☹️

I felt the need to post this a while back, and I feel the need again. But...it also kinda makes me feel like...a humorless scold. Or overly earnest. 😏

My husband (rabid raccoon) vs. me. Every damn time.

Just made this today. I spent $8 on Xmas ham, fed the kids and their SOs, & sent everyone home w/ ham for sandwiches for a week. Boiled off the bone & got 3 quarts of broth. Added 🥕 🧅🧄🫘 - made enough soup for 2 days. Still have some broth left to make a dumpling & 🥔 stew. 2 weeks of meals for $12.

My life:
Husband "stacking" vs. my rearranging. Every damn time.

They were not headless. The heads were still there...just not attached.
