I played Dune Awakening Free Trial. It is a lot of fun but I find it odd I need a constant online connection to play. Surprisingly 300-1k ping is okay-ish to play but clearly not ideal. I notice that I have no lag at the opening tutorial and in spice dreams b/c they are solo instances.

I made my own grill mate brown sugar bourbon seasoning without the bourbon.

So players stopped at a village that was attacked by some crazy noble. They sounded really interested in helping them as the session ended. So next session I made a better map only for them to just leave.

On the way back I will try the Travel Montage Narration method and let them opt into random encounters.
The random encounters i came up with were to to help players get a first hand experience of the world. Based on the suggestion that @sskorkowsky.bsky.social gave and that worked out a lot better

So I tried some of the traveling rules I made and ended up settling with the in vehicle rules I made. My reasoning was that my method would give players bonuses if a random encounter happened and let them choose how they will approach it. While failures would flavor how they stumble into them.
