One of my thoughts before turning off “Friends and Neighbor’s” with Jon Hamm walking down an endless hall in a mansion was… I don’t wanna be rich…I just don’t want to constantly worry about how I’m going to survive. It’s not aspirational for me.

The New Yorker has an article about this. It’s astounding. The Finale of “The Rehearsal” Is Outlandish and Sublime www.newyorker.com/culture/on-t...
The Finale of “The Rehearsal” Is Outlandish and Sublime
The first season of Nathan Fielder’s mind-bending show seemed to exhaust all possibilities for its conceit. But the second is, somehow, even more berserk than the first.

Those dystopian movies got it right, didn’t they?

I take your point and it’s despicable. But I think the Nazis filmed the camps for propaganda purposes, to show them in a positive light, like Theresienstadt in 1944. The images shown are from the camps bring liberated. Of course, It’s obscene to film in front of the prisoners, you are right.

I just finished “We Solve Murders”, thank you. I truly feel that you, too, have written a great British mystery novel; with humor and heart and truth (particularly about loss). I’ve put “Campus Trilogy” on my wish list. I loved David Lodge’s books on writing. Thanks for everything.

Also, when a bigoted white woman can call a Black child a hateful slur, whilst holding her innocent child, and end up with $500,000 to “protect her family” from donations from other evil bigots.

I think they do.. but at the same time I see your hood.. you want joy and contentment and well-being! It seems natural to be sad though with what you’ve experienced. I’m sad too.

MAGA people in my community say he and DOGE are no different than Dr. Fauci; hired by the government. I was surprised at this, dragging out an enemy to excuse an unelected unconfirmed non member of the cabinet.. and they say the Tesla protests are destruction of property and thus fascistic.

I just read “The Ghost Hotel” by Laila Lalami and it was so timely about AI, truth, the prisoners dilemma, the power of the state.. I loved it.

At least M.Gessen and Tressie McMillan Cotton pushed back. And Patrick Healy held control. But I totally agree. Often when BS is in a group interview I skip over his commentary.

Some say let’s tear it all down and start a new democracy. They aren’t informed about the Founder’s ideals or have clear visions of say, the Bill of Rights or due process. The moral virtue the Founders held dear has been on my mind since you mentioned it a few days ago. Thank you for your writing.
