Literary agent by day, query shark by night.
Thank goodness I hadn't met my irony quotient yet today.

Mug check!
My Powell's Books mug is an old reliable.
I've had it since I lived in Oregon!

My great curse to anyone: May you be locked in Powell's overnight without your reading glasses!

Mx. PIx and I hope you will be distracted by watching for incoming birds.

I'm glad you know you are a total savage.

You probably make your cats eat on the floor.

I blame @roncharles.bsky.social for much of my reading delights.

Among Friends arrived today. 8.5pounds of gorgeous book about publishing.

One more thing (of many!) that I liked about The Astoria Bookshop was they had Lakota America on the front table.

It's a seminal work on American History; it changed how I looked at the settlement (there are other words too) of the west.

Dense, essential reading.

My week of cat sitting has commenced!
Mx. Pix and I are planning a rousting round of tv-watching and laser pen chasing.

I'll chase the laser dot as soon as they learn to hold the pen!

Some people notice holiday decorations in stores.
Me, I notice something else!

Yes, they lock the mailboxes and start skipping stops on bus routes. (The former is anti-terrorism; the latter is traffic control.)

May I chalk this up to great minds think alike?

Did you know that the Animal Care Centers of NYC accept in-kind donations?
They're getting a big box of sheets from me today!

This is NOT acceptable.
I am going to write a strongly worded letter of protest!

Normally I get ideas about books to read from @roncharles.bsky.social. Today it was coffee.

Yes that is Sandra Boynton art on the bag.

Oh, what a lovely reminder!
I went to the unfurling (?) and just followed the unfurlers around for about an hour (is unfurlers a word?)

They gave out little squares on the first day...I have two!

I went back as often as I could. It was GREAT the day it snowed

Well, I guess this weekend's reading is taken care of!

(I was surprised how hefty The Iliad is, but it's a gorgeously published book, and has 148 pages of notes and vocab. Can NOT wait!)

One of the things I love most about Working From Home is that when I have to think about a pitch letter, I can let my brain go at it, but use my paws and eyeballs to iron my freshly washed curtains! (yes, I iron stuff, don't press me on that!)

Incoming books today, and I'm torn about which to start first!

I love getting books in the mail. Today's haul includes an author new to me: Amy Cipolla Barnes, published by Bell Point Press.
