Now my youngest, 27, says she is grateful I asked them to think carefully about what they really needed now, what could wait for later, or to skip because it was overpriced for the amount of use, impact on the environment, and it was worthwhile to buy locally, etc.

Helping my kids to learn to be savvy about being manipulated by advertising or peer pressure, wanting local stores, especially grocery, to be here in the future (instead of being driven out of town by a cheap mercenary chain).

And in Michigan, we have the infamous "pop up" property tax. Your property tax Increases are capped as long as you live in the house, but come uncapped when sold. Therefore your new home carries uncapped taxes

It would be a game changer in terms of increased quality of life if we stopped allowing large trucks to travel at will and sometimes at speed through our city centers and residential neighborhoods.

Especially pre war towns just not built for big or fast vehicles
