Albertans deserve answers and transparency on how a brand new company with deep, close ties to the UCP government got $70 million in government contracts.

Closing the supervised consumption site at the Royal Alex is entirely an ideological decision from the UCP. It does not address the issues and, in fact, I can imagine will only return us to the exact same conditions that required the creation of it in the first place.

Last week, I joined the Street Cats on a patrol in downtown Calgary, meeting people who were preparing to spend the night on the street. In a five-block loop along 7th and Stephen Ave, we encountered dozens of people who asked for clothes, hygiene packages, warm food, drinks, and clean drug pipes.
