Long time since I've had the old letraset out. Still love it. #letraset #bookmaking #slow

Wonderful book about the architecture of the book and its display + circulation.
Beautiful design as always when Dayanita Singh and Steidl collaborate. The endpapers are a print of well worn paper with markings and smudges. I look at this one often.

Worth a visit to this one. Here's a review I wrote for @aunz.theconversation.com on Carol Jerrems Portraits (and imperfections, cuts, shadows) at National Portrait Gallery Canberra. So excellent to see so many small scale prints on the wall.

Carol Jerrems captured Melbourne and Sydney of the 1970s, understanding photography as a collaboration
Carol Jerrems worked primarily with black and white photography until her early death in 1980. Over 140 of her photographs are currently on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.

I keep thinking again about Zoe Leonard's photographs of the US Mexico border. I wrote about her Al río/To the River series last year here:

The persistence of nature, the movement of water, the rigidity of walls: photographer Zoe Leonard documents the US–Mexico border
For Zoe Leonard, photography is not just about using a camera. Photography is also about a way of thinking, seeing and interacting.

Another from the shelf! Moyra Davey's 2010 book Speaker Receiver (Sternberg Press). I'm a big fan of Davey's work, love her attention to fragments, diaries, dust, reading, letters, minor notes of life in both her photos and writing. #MoyraDavey #photobook

I regularly look at this one, 'Port Area' by Komatsu Hiroko (2010). She photographs materials in cycles of demolition/destruction. This one is a favourite because of its materials and hand made methods: cardboard, staples, hand-stamping, plastic wrapped contact sheet print on the cover. #photobook

Smallest book in my collection! A transcript of Robert Frank's hour-long single take film of Frank and an actor wandering around the lower east side of Manhattan. Curious wonderful little book. This one was published in 1992 by Hanuman Books. Steidl did a reprint in 2007.
