Just back from a wonderful - and very active! - family holiday in the French alps, with children and grandchildren. A week of chiar-lifts up mountains, forest walks, streams to play in, and icy cold plunge pools

A joy to attend Stephanie Norgate's launch for #Hartisborne - and some wonderful conversation about our deep connection to landscape & place. I was reminded of Robert Macfarlane's wonderful talk on #landscape & the human heart, which I listened to again today www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q1I...

Very much looking forward to the launch of Stephanie Norgate's novel 'Hartisborne' later today - 5.30 - as part of the Chichester Festival. Loved this novel so much - my novel of the year, so far! #GilbertWhite

Spent Light: a book by @larapawson.bsky.social - is described here as 'glorious', and I would agree! A fascinating, intense, and powerful read. amp.theguardian.com/books/2024/j...

A visit to Wylds Farm with 4 of our grandsons last weekend - hours outside, running along paths and through trees, making a den surrounded by baby Christmas trees, tractor rides, and hot chocolate with marshmallows round a fire in the old farmyard. The perfect antidote to pre-Christmas stresses
