Once a Trotskyist, once a lawyer, but always European. Socialist, feminist, Sheffield. I like cities, housing and love my cat, Flint, the little mester.
You can have both of course

Only just seen your post. I’m so sorry. Losing a cat is awful and deciding to have your loved furry one PTS is very painful.

Yes, a very happy birthday to Wolf and all best wishes and thanks to Anne Louise for creating such a delightful world

All right, posted too soon. Does mention Hallam & Sheffield FC and the Steel City derby. Apologies

My printer was grinding its gears a lot when I bought its successor. The grinding stopped once the replacement came. Your power button will likely sort itself out now.

I did that with my printer 3 years ago, and the original has soldiered on. I think it’s just got it in for me. The replacement is sitting quietly as its warranty runs out.

I’m old enough to remember when Thatcher cut my taxes & cut social security. So the money I saved in taxes went on the insurance policy I took out in case I got too ill to work or lost my job & needed to pay my mortgage. Only the rip-off insurance companies benefited.

Very fond of Lion bars, me. Not at all fond of effing fascists, though

And that’s Spencer Tracy, so they are not unknown in the US

Ask Derek, he’ll know but here’s an example. Old fashioned.

Two countries divided by a common language- I’m English, I was waiting for a dog wearing socks held up by suspenders not a dog wearing a nappy held up by braces

Still reading Evicted by Jessica Field (I got distracted) and listening to The Impossible Fortune by Richard Osman

Glad to see that the lady from Stevenage is up on new towns. Would have been even better if Lady Maclean had been of Peterlee or the like

Cats are a delight. The glorious Flint stays with me as I read and then as I settle to sleep & say goodnight he potters off to his sleep-spots elsewhere.

How come you’ve got a Wilko? Didn’t they go out of business?
