A lifelong Californian, I attended Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time in my life yesterday for a small child. While I did think frequently of Baudrillard and Jameson, the Nintendo bonus round was cool, and the light show was very technically impressive. It’s also nice to keep recovering.

My new chapter on close reading, distant reading, graphs, maps, and trees in the digital humanities is available: “Computational Theology and Information Visualization” in Compendium of Computational Theology (Heidelberg). It will be included in the Close Reading Archive (Rhodes).

Conclusion from my session: a denarius could be worth a variable amount synchronically and diachronically.
