The Limit in Sheffield, Wednesdays was goth alternative night but Fools Gold would always pack the dance floor. The co-op sold the building so that a car park could be built. I’ve never trusted the co-op since.

Madchester, grunge, and some really good dance music got us over the 1990 hump. But for pure pop, I agree 1987 and early fair better.
