My dumb dog hits this pose when he doesn't want to walk, despite being the one to whine until I take him outside.

Marinating with this weird little translated book. My only coherent thought is her husband has the same name as Charles Muntz's chef dog in Up and I just thought of it every time lmao

How Do You Live? was super interesting in that it felt a little bit like reading The Alchemist except I didn't despise it lol. People should be reading this instead.

Uprooted was really good bc I just fucking love graphic memoirs!

Always Never was good, but omg the art is to die for

Really enjoyed this little tome, particularly the last essay on building and working for your community in a tangible way. Gonna have to seek out the rest in this series when I need to get some respite from the constant flood of terrible news 🥲

January reads. Le Guin continues to amaze, a slow and steady marinade to plunk my brain in.

Zen Cho never fails to delight and I loved the meat of this straight forward romance; the title is God awfully misleading lol. Intellectuals know friends to lovers is where it's at 😤

Molly Ostertag's newest was amazing, which is no surprise.

Followed it with Monstrous and hoo boy, I couldn't stop til I finished. Aside from just extremely fucking with graphic memoirs, I identified so much with a love with cartoons & comics that made them an outsider growing up.

Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El Saadawi had some choice passages. Definitely not an optimistic book, but not nearly as tragic as I anticipated. It's more defiantly matter of fact in it's depictions of (binary) gender, marriage, and sex work.

There were funny moments that reminded me of the best of Niles and Daphne shenanigans, but unfortunately there wasn't really anywhere else for the plot to go. The arc of the first volume is pretty perfect.

The teacher stuff was also a bit 😵‍💫

An interesting read that I need to find some analysis on by someone way smarter than me.
