Her heart lies on the kitchen floor. Tonight, it’s been trampled on by an old loafer. She scoops it up and slops it into a bowl. Its pumping red is fading. Her heart is greying. She no longer knows where to start, to fix her heart. She covers the bowl in cling film and puts it in the freezer. #mpotd

Watching a spider’s long legs, as it builds its web, reminds me of watching my fingers extend and retract as I type sentences. I wonder if we're both holding our breath and hoping that our creation won't collapse or be blown away by a foul wind :)

My ‘to read’ pile is too serious and non-fictiony … any suggestions for short story collections (especially of the fantastical variety) would be much appreciated!
