Fall flowers. 🥰 I love fall flowers and what's left after as much as spring time flowers. Beauty has so many varieties. ❤️

Creating my newsletter (+ a free guide for new subscribers) was out to try me!! Definitely called to practice what I preach. 😅 But I learned a lot, finally finished, & I'm feeling pretty proud of it! There's now an audio option. 🎧 Can I go paint now??? 😆

New blogpost up at my digital studio. :) "I'm thinking about how to kindly keep myself more corralled and less of an accident victim to my ADHD brain." 😉

I hung this up recently... a way to store my artwork more than anything else. But, I've been surprised. Putting it up has given me a new relationship with this painting. It sits up in the corner beaming at me. It changes moods based on the light, sunshine/cloudy/the lamp, etc. I really love it!

A few days ago, I got a notification: someone had become a paying subscriber.

It might not seem like much — just one person, one quiet click.

But to me, it felt loud. A clear keep going.

I'm approaching the 4th anniversary of my dad's death. I painted the underpainting of this piece the week before he died. Working on this was a portal between that time and today, allowing them to stand together. I loved working on this. It is a 12 " x 18" acrylic and embroidery thread on canvas.

Work in progress, 8"x10". I've been listening to Rob Walker's book The Art of Noticing while painting. I've been writing a bit about noticing - which you can peep at my digital studio:

Slow, but sure, my digital studio is coming together. I have so many ideas of directions I can take with this. It's hard to be patient. ;)

Took a walk at our local park. I understand why doctors around the world are prescribing nature walks for physical and mental health. #photography #nature #mentalhealth

Arches - a long time theme in my work - represent different things but most often they are portals of alternate/untaken choices or experiences. There's no going back but they are still known to and remain permanent pieces of who we are. 12"x12", acrylic on canvas #painting #abstractart #acrylics

I recently hung this painting & it has been catching my eye and talking to me quite a bit. Its personality feels lively & challenging while still being grounded. This one has grown on me. 18"x24", acrylic on canvas. #art #abstractart #nonrepresentationalart #acrylics

There's that meme about going to a famous viewpoint in nature and it's just grey clouds or fog or something underwhelming. But then, you step out of your car in a shopping mall parking lot and there's an incredible sunset. Yeah, this was that. 😉

I painted this 3 yrs ago when we were living in Encinitas (which makes a lot of sense as I look at the color palette I was using...). It was also before I knew how much change was about to slam into my life. I still remember how much fun it was working on this. I like the 12"x36" aspect ratio.

If I can find it, I'll share a photo of this painting where it is hung. It lives in the entrance of my friend Kathy's home. It's a energetic piece, and at the same time...it feels grounded and peaceful. I feel so lucky to have so many friends who have enjoyed having my work in their daily lives. 🥰

This painting lives in my friend Maria's collection. I'm glad it is with her, and I do miss it sometimes. I have conversations with my art as I create... So it is, for me, like missing a friend I don't get to talk to anymore.

More evidence: cats and art belong together. 🥰

Cats and art just go together, don't you think? 😺

If our forecast is to be believed, our coldest days of winter are about to be behind us. I am looking forward to warmer days. And, I've really been given so much by this winter season. ❄️💙

A real life abstraction just waiting for me to paint it.

Hello! Creating a landing space for my art and art-related content. I'm an abstract artist. I've lived on the West Coast most of my life (Seattle, San Diego, and some early years in Oregon) and recently moved to Wisconsin.
