So interesting - I tried to post in the comments but substack was taking me round in circles. I think you may have meant Boston Manor Park not Osterley. The M4 goes straight over it - it’s very surreal. It’s often in films and tv. Once standing in for Berlin.

I was at the Blitz club exhibition at The Design Museum and there was a pay phone with a handy guide explaining the concept of a shared pay phone in a rented house and having to queue up to use it.

I’ve never noticed that! But it’s usually pronounce ladbrooks for some reason!

In the 80s I had one book to look through of all the UCCA courses, polys were different. It was great though - I looked up Film Studies which led me to American Studies which I had never heard of. Then I chose something even more niche -American & Commonwealth arts which included a year in the US

It’s been the same for 30 years - I visited it doing my PGCE in the 90s. The head was Ruth Miskin - who started the Read Write Inc phonics scheme.

He’s so on the ball - I visited that school almost 30 yrs ago doing my PGCE. It had the same demographic make up then. Run by Ruth Miskin now of the Read Write Inc fortune.

Sadly not a myth - my kids have left school school but being married to a teacher means we always go away in school holidays. This cottage for example goes up by £400 a week from July 17th next year.

Being long waisted is a pain in the arse unless you are a super model because most tops, shirts , jumpers are too short and some dresses don’t sit/fit in the right places.

Love the film - got married in the hotel in it. Also amusingly it’s the same hotel where Josie Jump exercised in Balamory.

They had mascarpone flavoured ice cream at a nearby cafe. My son loved it as a toddler but kept calling it the horse ice cream. We were puzzled but then realised - pony.

It’s just the same taste as cream. Not really sweet. Sometimes it has a sort of crust on top - the best part
