35 years old. Reader, cozy game enthusiast. I have a library science degree that I don’t use but am very proud of. I love my wife and my cat!
This exactly. I want human art and creativity. I want talented voice actors and programmers and creative directors getting paid fairly. I don’t want gen AI.

Tomb of Dragons by Katherine Addison! I’ll have to look up yours, haven’t heard of it!

I also recommend Mirage. It takes you back to AC roots with things like the hidden daggers, smoke bombs, etc. Shadows looks like a lot of fun too!

Ah gotcha. I can see it now looking at the flames from our menorah!

You leave something from a local brewery, if lucky enough to have that option!

Where did you get candles that produce blue flame? I want some!

She said she used them to confirm the scientific elements, but why not just pose those questions to experts in the first place, as I assume she did in the previous books?

And she has contacts at NASA! Why not just ask them those questions in the first place? Why not reach out to someone to do the translation?

Yes. Nintendo is the biggest, but plenty of others. CD Projekt Red says no AI use for Witcher 4. And indie studios can attach a seal to their game listing indicating no AI use. AI can get code wrong just as easily as it does anything else. And a lot of people HATE AI.

Like, if she would say “it was new, I thought it might be a good tool, I was wrong and will never use gen AI again, I’m sorry” that would be different, but she keeps doubling down and defending herself instead of simply apologizing.
December 21, 2025 at 3:30 PM
No, they don’t. A lot might, but plenty of studios have sworn off the use of gen Ai in making games.

I love you Hanukkah moose by the way!

Here’s ours!

The problem with this is that Gen AI can straight up make up sources. It can pull together “information” that is either completely wrong or doesn’t exist. And now even academic journals are being infiltrated with articles that don’t exist but are being cited.
December 21, 2025 at 8:16 AM
I’ve read a few of her books and this is so disappointing. I’m very upset. Between this and the news about Clair Obscur, I hate the existence of Gen AI even more.
December 21, 2025 at 7:49 AM
No. Gen AI use is never ok.
December 21, 2025 at 7:44 AM
I despise Gen AI but I already own the game and I’m 20% through it. So yeah, I’ll finish. But scrutinize more thoroughly moving forward before buying more games from them.
December 21, 2025 at 7:42 AM
I’m still going to finish it because I already own it and I’m 20% through. That said, I’m pissed and will definitely scrutinize the developer harder moving forward. I despise gen AI, and it shouldn’t have been used in development or launched with those elements, even if they were patched out.

I’m going to come into this thread and say that I hate how AI is being forced into everything. I see you work on AI for Word. I don’t want AI in Word. Or in my email, in my pdfs, in my google searches, in my gaming, in anything. I opt out of it every time I can. I want human work and interaction.

My wife should finish up reading tomorrow, then it’ll be my turn! Very excited!
December 18, 2025 at 12:30 AM
That’s a great idea!

Seems like a “give grace” the first time, bc I think a lot of students truly don’t know how to be students. Haven’t been taught info literacy, how to find sources, write papers, etc. After that, they know the rules and the grades should reflect that. Fair but tough:
December 16, 2025 at 12:27 AM
If it works, it works. For me, it meant a lot of long days/nights in the library bc the books couldn’t be checked out, but it taught me a lot.
December 16, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Also a good idea. Students still learn the basics of research, reading, citing sources, but they have to put in the work to some degree. And a whole other module should be learning how to choose reputable resources, with assignments to reflect this, and failing grades for those who use ChatGPT.
