We adopted a greyhound 2 years ago and I ADORE Fortuna! They are stunning and so cool and while I am very much not rooting for Cam I don't want the wonderful houndie to get hurt 🙈🙈🙈

Firstly, heck yeah I'm keen. Signed up! But I'm also interested in the platform you're using. I've been thinking about switching newsletter platforms and was considering using Substack but I'm a bit worried about it's enshitification journey.

Aw will this be available online eventually for us poor Australians who can’t get to SPX? 🥺

But whatever happens, I love your work. I'll consume and support it where ever it be!

Except maybe in some Canadian woods, the flight costs from Australia are a bit out of my budget atm 😉

I remember the controversy, they did actually end up dropping some of the worst actors after a review and like you said I don't think you can't prevent shitty people from signing up to an open platform. As long as there are good moderation/block tools I think that's the important thing.

Yeah I get it, I've been so overwhelmed by it all lately, which is why Substack appeals because it combines outreach to new people (social media) and outreach to existing readers (newsletter) and a income stream (Patreon).

It took a little to get my head around but I love it now. I was planning on eventually launching a Patreon but I'm now thinking Substack instead.

I've begun really enjoying following comic creators on substack, people like Molly Knox Ostertag, Kelly Thompson in particular. ComicLab podcast host Brad Guiger did whole episode on how well it's working for him from a promotional perspective AND you could swap out Mailchimp and Patreon for it.

I know this an old post but in case you’re still looking I use Mailerlite because it has a generous free tier and reasonable pricing. Another option is flodesk which has a flat fee rather than scaling with your list size which I respect a great deal
