The show got ordered for 26 episodes across two seasons so that makes me think that they have a complete story they want to tell in that time. And yes i do think Avatar is a franchise that can survive the 2020s. Its endless in potential.

I have trouble getting into anime bc the tropes and culture is just so different that it's like a culture shock to me but I have enjoyed an episode here and there. I'm just watching one a time every so often. Definitely one of the better anime shows I've watched.
