However I did get to the bottom of my issue, it was a faulty antenna cable that was causing it to constantly be unavailable.

On top of that I accidentally ripped the strip when putting it back. Replaced it a few weeks ago, only to do it again :(

I do a similar thing but with a power monitoring plug. I started off with the vibration sensor but could never get it to trigger. PM plug is amazing though

What does your second automation do?

I love this idea but it does make me wish I had a dedicated guest bathroom so I could make them feel uncomfortable

Haha yeah we're the same. One day I found her sitting in the living in complete darkness and she just put her hand in the air and said "the lights didn't come on so what am I to do"
