Another wee preview of the Wing-It Singers concert in St Matthias Church, Hackney on 7 Dec - a snippet from that sad, sweet song Dear Companion:

Last night while you were sweetly sleeping
Dreaming of some sweet repose
While me a poor girl broken hearted
Listens to the wind that blows.

Forthcoming concert in Hackney! Lots of stunning harmony singing in weird languages plus guest musicians Jeremy Young and Holly Cullen Davies performing piano duets. And a bar.

Excellent news about an idea dreamed up by the folk who sell this fab 'Scottish brochs' t-shirt (can YOU name all these brochs? 🤔)

If you're into jam at all there's a great recipe by Pam Corbin (from River Cottage) that I could pass on to you... (This is from her Instagram but doesn't give enough details.)

Looking up through the branches of my wonderfully prolific quince tree, which is what started me off on my jammy journey...

Marched alongside the wonderful Fallout Marching Band today, shaking my one maraca... They've been doing this sort of thing for a few decades now.

Here's the photo I took today and submitted to the memorycloudatlas.org for today's #cloudappreciationday. Bright sunshine, blue sky, cumulus, cirrus & altocumulus. Boats on the Regent's Canal an added bonus!

But perhaps most pleasing of all was this vehemently anti-lawn poster by Australian artist Sam Wallman. It looms out behind an early Buddings Patent lawnmower... 😬

At the British Library I was thrilled to see Gertrude Jekyll's boots, that she'd gardened in, I think, for 40 years. Must've looked after them very well!

Also enjoyed these pagan figures from Italy... Pleasing to read that it was the younger generation who revived this practice in 2012.

I loved these beautifully woven baskets at the Design Museum, made by women of the Ye'kuana people from the Venezuelan Amazon.

A glut of blackcurrants this year - and some jammy bartering with a friend who grows them - has enabled me to make blackcurrant jam for the first time. And very nice it is too. Will be selling it with other products at Myddleton Road Market this Sunday.
