📖 Book Review: A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn
⭐️ Rating: 10/10

In Good Will Hunting, Matt Damon said,
"Jesus. If you wanna read a real history book, read Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States. That book’ll knock you on your ass."

This was one of the best movies I’ve seen all year! It was so cool, fun, interesting, and different. I can’t believe they wasted it on a streaming release. You can’t tell me this wouldn’t have been profitable at the theaters.

📖 Book Review: Pandora by Anne Rice
⭐️ 8.08/10

Part of New Tales of the Vampires, Pandora technically sits outside The Vampire Chronicles, but it’s an amazing addition to the mythos.

Can we talk about the literal library of books Lois Lane had in her apartment? The moment I saw it, I got jealous—and now I’m dying to know exactly which books were in her collection.

I thought the Vampire Chronicles was back on track. Nope. I hated this book. Unless the later books somehow make it matter, this is an easy skip.

This exactly what this series needed. Told through Marius’s voice, it’s his 2,000-year autobiography — from Roman nobleman to one of the oldest vampires alive — filling in so many gaps left by the earlier books.

After being let down by The Vampire Armand, I took a 5-month break from The Vampire Chronicles. Merrick was my first book back—and I wasn’t sure what to expect.

📚 "Call Us What We Carry" by Amanda Gorman
📖 Book Rating: 5/10

Let me start by saying: I love Amanda Gorman. Her public/performance poetry has deeply moved me in the past. That said, this book just wasn’t for me — and that’s okay.

I recently finished Laws of Depravity by Eriq La Salle. Some of you might remember him from Coming to America or E.R. My cousin mentioned her friend had written a book, but what she didn’t mention was that her friend is literally Dr. Benton! I’d rate it a solid 8.12/10.

🧵 Final Destination: Bloodlines – Review

A great sequel is like comfort food. It hits the same notes as the original—familiar, satisfying, made with care. Bloodlines felt like a bootleg version made with off-brand ingredients and zero soul.

I was whelmed. Not underwhelmed, not overwhelmed—just… whelmed.
There was a ton of hype around Thunderbolts, with people calling it a “return to form” or “the best thing since Endgame,” which I just don’t understand. It’s a fun action flick, sure, but there’s no real heart or depth.

I went into "Up from Slavery" by Booker T. Washington with high expectations, knowing Washington's name but not much else about him. While his journey from slavery to becoming a leader in education is undeniably remarkable, the book left me agreeing with his critics.

RFK Jr: If you give Black children “resilience” then “the inevitable racism” will “bounce off” them like they are “the Avengers” because “they will be immune to it” and “then we don’t have to stop racism altogether, because we’re never going to be able to do that.”
