seemingly simple things like paint-and-post bike lanes, curb extensions, crossing improvements, and traffic calming features had a huge impact: a 30% increase in bikes and a 57% increase in pedestrians along this neighborhood corridor.

sometimes you need to celebrate the little things. on Saturday, we brought Bellingham neighbors, elected officials, business owners, and advocates together to cut a ribbon to celebrate the impending end of the “pilot” phase of a local multimodal transportation project.

my city is going to miss its 15-year goal to have “12% of trips be by bike by 2030” and pretend we have no idea why, when we’re building this BS… a sharrow on a 40mph road between our two urban cores bc dropping a few parking spaces for a proper bike lane was apparently an unacceptable tradeoff 🤦♂️

@gocaltrain.bsky.social is out here quietly becoming the most impressive & exciting rail system in the country. similar to NYC congestion pricing, CA rail investments are quickly going to shift from ridiculed to envied & emulated.
