90% of archival documents research I am doing on representations of Indigenous peoples and Canada in the early modern period seems to be coming across openly racist and sexist texts. But sometimes it is worth it because you get to see fun maps, like this one that imagines Canada as a stegosaurus

I’m re-reading Amber Dawn’s How Poetry Saved My Life, A Hustler’s Memoir and I am absolutely astounded by how much compassion and honesty she writes with. Arsenal press is a natural treasure

It makes me sad that people will dismiss this horrible statement as a “joke.” This is a white woman with a national platform commenting about killing more Indigenous people. This kind of “joke” normalizes ongoing violence against Indigenous peoples

I am assuming that international law must have changed between 2022 and today and I just missed the memo. After all, Trump was just nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and would never use his own social media platform to confess to a war crime
