I have filed a criminal complaint with the Colorado State Attorney General against Elon Musk and DOGE for illegally accessing private data through the Treasury Department. I suggest every American citizen do the same in their State. DOGE and Elon Musk are not government agents

Trump is only here for retribution. There is nothing else going on in his extremely diminished capacity. He has given the worst of the worst free reign. He may only care about personal retribution but the people he has let in have terrible agendas of their own and they are there for destruction.

I guess I didn't actually need to worry about this, instead of trying to get civil servants to do illegal things they just started illegally firing people and illegally doing all the illegal stuff themselves.
I don't really want to write this, b/c I understand the motive and thinking here. For federal civil servants, though, I have to believe we can't afford to play into the Deep State narrative that's already aimed at us by engaging in this kind of conduct. It's different from regular citizens. 1/
Throwing sand in the gears of terrible machinery is also resisting.

So yes, this aged poorly. I severely underestimated how lawless this admin was going to be and how thoroughly they would trash existing systems. bsky.app/profile/pete...
Maybe I'll revisit this thought process in 6mo or a year and say "Boy, that was naive & dumb," but I don't think so. None of these are easy things to grapple with or easy decisions to make, especially for those of us who expected to have a whole career in government & otherwise love our job. 9/
