I think this is well deserved - but I do feel a bit for him - as I would for anyone - experiencing this degree of humiliation.

I get almost daily emails from the wine society, because I've bought across categories including en primeur or first release as they call it. But being offered this surprised me. It's not really a wine society sort of wine.

Gaja prices come from a parallel universe. There are better options at £50 for sure. Gaja are good but their pricing is out of control

Actually there's some evidence that there wasn't so much Chardonnay, but I'm surprised by this www.plantgrape.fr/en/varieties...
Chardonnay- Plantgrape
This variety is originally from Bourgogne (Burgundy) and based on published genetic analyses, would result from the crossbreeding of Pinot and Gouais blanc.

This can't be right. 1961 - Champagne and Burgundy between them will have had 20 k ha plus, and Alsace would have had more than 500 ha or Riesling, and Muscadet isn't a grape variety....etc

It's always good to read books written by people who can write. It's not a given in the wine space.

It's an absolute liability. Can you imagine the cost of farming this, the lost opportunity cost of sinking 1 m, plus the rock bottom prices for the grapes or wine. You'd have to be crazy

Are you going to lose the US citizenship? Double taxation sounds bad

this is absolutely ridiculous

self inflicted - you admire the Citroen DS, you don't buy one and imagine that it might transport you to places
