The House is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the Epstein Files resolution. It will need a two-thirds super majority to pass under 'suspension of the rules.'

One House GOP lawmaker tells me the plan is to bring up the Epstein Files bill on Tuesday under 'suspension of the rules' - that means it would need a two-thirds majority to pass.

Very odd moment in the House. Republicans + 2 Dems voted *not* to kill a resolution rebuking Rep. Chuy Garcia D-IL for how he helped his chief of staff be the lone Democratic candidate to replace him. Now Dems hashing it out on the House floor in debate.

When the House convened on this date in 1800 for the first time at the U.S. Capitol, the House Journal had a unique name for the new seat of government: "The City of Washington, in the Territory of Columbia."

House Dem Leader Hakeem Jeffries: The GOP may not even net a single House seat from their push to change maps in Texas and other states. "They started this, we're finishing it."

Trump so far has attacked Rep. Thomas Massie R-KY and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene R-GA. What do they have in common?
Both want to release the Epstein Files.

Aboard Air Force 1 tonight, Trump on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene R-GA.

"Something happened to her over the last period of a month or two where she changed, I think, politically...Already I have people calling me, they want to challenge her to a race in her district in Georgia.”

At this time, no government funding bills are on the House schedule for next week.

9 bills are left - the House has passed 2 of those 9 (Defense and Energy & Water). The next shutdown deadline is 11 weeks from today

The Trump Justice Department has filed suit against California's new Congressional map that was approved last week by voters. The suit refers to the 'California General Assembly' - it's actually called the 'California State Assembly.' www.justice.gov/opa/media/14...

The shutdown is over and the U.S. Capitol is open for public tours again!

Democrats on Capitol Hill told us for the past 30 years that government shutdowns don't win policy concessions. Maybe they should have heeded their own advice. More in my column for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
History made clear this shutdown wasn’t going to work
Democrats failed to force action on their central issue, but seem to have succeeded in thrusting the issue of health insurance affordability squarely before voters.

Signature 218 on the Epstein Files

Grijalva finally sworn in after a 50 day delay
November 12, 2025 at 9:12 PM
If Adelita Grijalva is signature 218 for the Epstein Files discharge petition - that process is immediately over.

So if there is going to be any change by either Nancy Mace or Lauren Boebert - if would have to happen before Grijalva is sworn in today at 4 pm.

The Senate has approved a bipartisan deal to end the government shutdown. A House vote is expected on Wednesday.
November 11, 2025 at 2:28 AM
