Tl;dr. White working-class women’s body image is rooted in appearance norms, rather than appearance ideals (they are conceptually different).

Super important to consider intersectionality of class x gender

Being back from holiday straight into Week 1 of the new semester meant that I’ve been sharing these lovely pics at the start of every single one of my teaching session this week (secretly wishing I was still in the Mediterranean sun).

Next in my (re)introduction research drip-feed is my first ever publication (back in 2022 - how time flies!) on how appearance-related ethnic teasing is associated with skin colour dissatisfaction and body dissatisfaction for South Asian women in the UK.
