We had a great conversation with Jamie Nash last weekend!
He answered the tough question... What makes a horror novel/movie horror?

He uses the Save the Cat! genre, Monster in the House, to define horror. What do you think? 👻

For any horror writer, I 100% recommend Save the Cat! Writes Horror!

It's hard to pick one single thing from the book, but I really love all the tips and tricks it gives you to help weave tension and dread throughout the book, esp for a slow-burn horror writer like me!

'Write what scares you' isn't just good creative advice - it's a career strategy. I've watched countless writers break in by writing the story they were afraid to tell. The one that felt too personal, too weird, too raw. Those are the scripts that get noticed.

A couple years ago, I was on The Black List with a script that’s in development with an amazing producer.

After that, I signed on to write & produce two projects with fantastic, talented teams.

This year, I pitched a movie with cool IP, a director of a hit film, and a great actor attached to star.

Recently read Jamie Nash's SAVE THE CAT! WRITES HORROR and it might have made me like the StC story structure a little?

Will I follow it verbatim? Absolutely not, but there's some useful stuff in there that's helped me unstick a few points already!
