My dog, Amaria, knows how to open the sliding glass door. Like the smart girl she is, this weekend she opened the door and just sat and stared. Reminding us to take a breath, and enjoy what beautiful moments we can. 🤗

This was my very first radio/cassette player. My best friend and I used to sit on a blanket in the front lawn and play Barbie’s while listening to music. Those were some good times.
1980’s vintage. Shimmering pink GE SideStep AM/FM radio and cassette player. A silver metal antenna is reaching up at an angle. A horizontal rectangle shape with two speakers on front and cassette tape player in center. The radio and buttons are above the tape deck. The left side is rounded ant the right is square where a handle is attached. It’s not clear from the photo, but the handle can be punched in to create a flat surface.

They are surrounded by green foliage. The green leaves have some texture and look almost wrinkly. The flowers and foliage are from a patch of Bodega Reds, a thin-skinned, red potato. Bodega Red is one of only six potatoes believed to have come directly from South America to North America and were dry-farmed in the floodplains of rivers and creeks along Bodega and Tomales bays in CA starting in the 1850s. They had all but disappeared by the 1970s due to neglect and disease. Thanks to one of our local Slow Food chapters, we are helping replenish this most delicious potato.

Night Sky Petunias. Purple petunia flowers in a pot with green foliage. The deep purple flowers are speckled with irregular white spots giving them a dappled, otherworldly appearance. Sometimes called galaxy flower or 'Starry Night' petunia, thanks to its resemblance to the cosmos (per BHG)

I planted 4 Burgundy Plum trees on our hillside. They have dark purple skin and are deep fuchsia inside. The darker the berry the sweeter the juice!

It’s a political ideology that believes people are best guided by the capitalists class with strong private property rights, free markets and free trade, deregulation and limited social spending. Sound familiar? Before the 80s it was cringe to spout these ideas. Here’s a great book about it
