I think the AI one was the original post? Now deleted.

This one from the “Beckett on Film” series, 2001. www.imdb.com/title/tt0276...

Godot? I watched a filmed version and was transfixed. In the theatre I’m sure things are affected by who is cast and the direction.

I find it much easier to take a bath, but the water doesn’t get warm enough this time of year.

How many people do you think are capable of this, even if it was a good way to go?

What do you think of Laura Mersini-Houghton’s etc multiverse theory? And since it’d follow that “universe” doesn’t mean “all the physical world” in this context, what do astronomers mean by the word when used in this way?

I guess you’re talking generically, since the sticker wasn’t created by an ICE agent of course.

It’s lucky that’s been the only mis-step in the characterisation of the Doctor over the last twenty years.

You can’t fault the soundtrack.

But panning and zooming around what's obviously a static illustration is fine? I think Bod prepared us all for disappointing production values.

It’d be daft to rule out the possibility of it doing translations that seem as good as ours. Personally I don’t think AI as currently understood will ever be anything like human intelligence, but then I don’t believe computers can be sentient.

Sounds like the more sophisticated bit will mainly be the former translators going through it, which could end up being about as much work as just translating it if they care about the result. Which translators tend to very much.

Definitely a big “maybe” there.
December 18, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I think of it as a re-write.

You have all the information.

No.

The blog is hypothetical. Now no, the blog no, the donations link potentially, paper picks it up, yes. Then I’d have to come back and find the people I was chatting to on here. I didn’t swerve, I’m trying to find the line, which seems reasonable enough.
December 18, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I could add a “buy me a cup of coffee” to the blog, or a paper might pick it up and pay me. Should I come back and pay you for your tweets in either case?
December 18, 2025 at 3:51 PM
All the best.
December 18, 2025 at 3:31 PM
So that’s on me is it? I should let someone bully me for it? Would you?
December 18, 2025 at 2:20 PM
She doesn’t have to resort to pathetic childish misandrist insults either. I don’t have to put up with them. Do you see how that applies to everyone? Doesn’t matter if male or female. black or white, rich or poor. She just wanted to use me as a punch bag. It was a massacre. How is that overplayed?
December 18, 2025 at 2:12 PM
I don’t think I know more than her - I don’t even know her. But she was wrong about that. How would you know if I’m mediocre? Are my posts that bad?! You are less spiky to talk to, to say the least, but you’re agreeing with the way she spoke to me and we all need a little bit of self respect.
December 18, 2025 at 1:53 PM
How much do you think they’ve got spare to pay them? They aren’t a company. I think this word “content” may be getting too wide. Maybe I should be paying you for this conversation. What if I use it in a blog? Where’s the line?
December 18, 2025 at 1:50 PM
So you don’t like me because I’m white and male. Got it. I should talk to the author of “The Subjection of Women” about that.

What if they aren’t right. What happens then?
