On Dec 4, I'll be part of this reading at Fadensonnen in Baltimore. I hope people will come. No word on whether the pink bunny will show yet.

What a find!

Reading and reviewing for the #100smallpress project was a thrill. I already knew small presses were publishing interesting, adventurous, important books, but this project solidified that. Watch for the list of 100 Notable Small Press Books on Dec 1st in Lithub.

I will be tabling at the 2025 Baltimore Book Festival in two weeks, September 13 and 14, with copies of AMERICAN ANIMISM and my chapbook CRUMBLEHEAD, and whatever @egallagher.bsky.social has to offer, which is a bunch of cool stuff.

On our last full day in Iceland, we climbed a motherfucking volcano.

I just got my first royalty check for AMERICAN ANIMISM. It's the first time in my 37 years of writing that I've made any money from my writing (modest as it is). DEEPLY grateful, but still need to hustle to reach my goal. Maybe buy one?

The Mekons in DC last night. A great show. A great way to feel young and get some of that old punk energy into the fight against fascism.

How could I forget this one?!

I've read these 4 novels published by @malarkeybooks.bsky.social over the past year. Hugely impressed with the range and depth of Malarkey. All bangers. Read em.

Reading "Le Changelin" by @victorlavalle.bsky.social en francais. (Cover illustrated by my daughter @egallagher.bsky.social) Been working on French since 2020. The first book I can understand the first read-thru. It's magical! Reminds me of first learning to read. At 53, opening a new door.

This book would look great at the beach, in the sun, in the mountains, in the woods, in the ocean, on a glaciar. Summer, winter, fall, spring. There are stories inside.

Some touching, some strange, some lovely, some magical stories by @anniejowrites.bsky.social. Loved snacking on them over the last couple weeks.

It's making me oddly emotional that someone I don't know took the time to read and write a review of AMERICAN ANIMISM. So incredibly grateful. I know that's the whole idea of this, but, man, it's something.

I loved this little (almost) 50 pages wonder by @frecklywench.bsky.social, published by @bullcitypress.com . Short, odd, wonderful, thematically connected stories with some prickly prose.

I would love people to check out my debut collection of short stories. Some smack of magic realism, weirdness, animals-- darkness and lightness in about equal doses. Thank you!

This is a solid, well-crafted thriller set in Nashville in 1989. Songwriters, murder, revenge, sexuality: it’s got a lot going on, and it does it all well. Recommended reading for good regional crime fiction.

I really enjoyed THE WATERMAN, a short story collection by Gary Schanbacher. Published by Cornerstone Press. Read it for some solid placed-based realism.

Which reminds me... I have a book out!

Yesterday was the one month anniversary of my book's release. I am still stoked about it. Check it out if you're into short stories.
