love that Supercop #3 expects us to believe he had reason to believe a sitting MLA was engaged in flagrant corruption, conducted an illegal search — and then got distracted so never completed his investigation. Adorable.

Another clue: the vancouverspirit.com web domain was registered exactly two weeks before the PWHL team was announced.

The government of Canada when they're asked to respond to a question by Friday

But Montague aside, this moment really just illustrates how cops and departments are doing their jobs: balancing safety against convenience for drivers. Delta PD did not respond to my questions, but for the record, here's what I asked:

I wonder how the employees of Overstory Media feel about having their tech bro founder call the company "a failure" in his little newsletter, while they continue to show up at work and try to bring in readers, workers and advertisers?

How did this line, one wonders, not get spoken out loud in the form of a question to the person whose integrity and internal consistency it's attacking? (Or cut by an editor)

Really cool to see that Carney has done a sit-down interview with Bloomberg News — which just called Ontario a state and blamed Ontario for Trump's petty, insane chaos — and not to any of Canada's news networks, newspapers or other publications.

Weird coincidence: he's the company's former chair

Fall in Ottawa is so beautiful because it's when the city adds a third colour (yellow) to its much hyped brown and grey palate.

Finally, this most egregious take is the best example of why both sides-ism is a disease, not a cure. The reflexive need to sane-wash bad faith arguments—often regarding climate change or, in this case, bogus health claims—is a terrible and destructive tendency in media. Not something to amplify!

Second, the facts are rather more important than just *reacting to stuff* as this Kneecap story illustrates. We don't even know IF the band has been banned from Canada! That seems more important than your duelling hot takes.

First, and most obviously, there aren't two sides to every issue. Kimmel getting canned because the president got mad is not good business, as the backlash proved. Contorting yourself into a position of "here's why this is smart business" makes everyone, and our discourse itself, stupider.

You should know there's a new Canadian publication that presents "both sides" of a news story, and that no, it's not as bad as you think (it's worse).

That is definitely what they're highlighting and no issue there from me. But it seems to be leaving the door open to other uses that have nothing to do with First Nations.

Three headlines that tell a very disturbing story
October 9, 2025 at 5:55 PM
The BC government is moving to make it easier for local councils to close meetings to the public in two instances: negotiations with First Nations and negotiations with other local governments.

The First Nations part makes sense. But why other local governments? What instances would this cover?
