I grew up in south Georgia in the 80s. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but my learning of the civil rights movement was extraordinarily sterilized.
I visited the Civil Rights museum in Birmingham about 9 years ago and was shocked to learn the level of violence and oppression.

It's a long book and I thought it dragged at some parts but I still REALLY enjoyed it.

Don't hate me. I've been wheelchair bound before at an airport. But there was also a tremendous amount of fraud waste and abuse with this.
