Releasing someone from prison after they've served their sentence and gone through an appropriate rehabilitation process isn't giving them the benefit of the doubt

hat would be just releasing people without doing anything to reduce the risk of reoffending which is not what I said should be done

They're insane resource hogs in the short and long term which create at best 100s of long term Jobs

Also propagated globally so places like NZ have a coalition govt including a party who actively courted these kinds of conspiracy theories to get elected and then influenced govt policies to pander to them

What if they automate away white collar, creative and transport workers?
Who buys the stuff from their companies?
With what money?
How does that economy function?

There are some councillors dotted around the place fighting the good fight (they have more direct power than say opposition MPs) but largely inside councils which overall suck

So it's probably a fair generalization
