I make the WiFi work, and when it doesn't I run away to the woods or Disney to take pictures.

I am not a morning person. But I do love doing morning person type stuff. Meeting up with @natureaddictlady and @mattkremkau at the New Croton Dam and Croton Gorge Park to witness another beautiful sunrise.

I heard a rumor that @natureaddictlady was out looking for morning light in @harrimanstatepark When I found her the lakes were still still with glass like reflections. So I guess you can believe the rumor mill once in a while.

To follow up from the other day. This is another example of why I return to spots over and over again. Even so quickly after taking images, especially this time of year.

The images on Monday were taken around lunchtime on 10/12/25
Today's image was taken on Sunday 10/19/25 around 9am.

There’s something grounding about returning to the woods before the colors hit their peak. The sound of rushing water, the smell of wet leaves, and the anticipation of the change ahead — that’s the Lower Hudson Valley in October.
Do you prefer peak foliage or the subtle tones that lead up to it? 🍂

"Is that an eagle?!" Yes, that is an eagle spotted by @natureaddictlady while we were out with @mattkremkau It must have been quite the sight watching the 3 of us crouching down going "Sssshhh" to each other trying to not startle it away. Which, as you can see in the second photo... I did.

You ever have the feeling the scene chose you? This is one of those scenes. I set out to shoot small scenes around this spot, but early fall foliage stole the show. So sometimes the photograph does choose you. We are about a week or two away from Foliage Season being in full effect, are you ready?

Fall is coming. And I am sure it could not be understated that I am READY for it. The change in color, the cool crisp air, and autumn adventures. Are you ready? And do you have any adventures planned? Sound off below!

The rugged Lone Pine Peak rises in striking black and white, its sharp ridges etched in light and shadow. A timeless portrait of nature’s raw power and enduring beauty. One of the things I love so much about the Eastern Sierra is the enormity of it all, like I am on a completely different planet.

The elegance of a three-masted schooner under full sail, a tribute to classic ocean adventure. Having been able to see a regatta for the first time in person, seeing the boats around the harbor was captivating. The skill, the craftsmanship, and the elegance of it all.

Two puffins take to the skies, their wings beating over open water in a perfect display of coastal wildlife. Native to the Northern Atlantic was a lot of fun to see these whimsical birds in their habitat off the coast of Maine.

Viewing the full Sturgeon moonrise along the Hudson from the beach that was littered with all of the pieces of bricks as a result of the collapse of the industry in the area, along with the disastrous landslide that occurred.

The Milky Way stretches above a quiet cove of the Fisherman Island Passage. Boats at the mooring waiting for the next day's adventure. There is nothing like nighttime in Maine, cool salty air along the coast. Some fairly dark skies. All among my favorite things that I enjoy.

While I generally don't post immediately after an event, this one I figured I would. This was the image in my stories over the weekend that I took while waiting for the full moon to get into position for the composition that I wanted. There is a video for coming on Wednesday! Stay tuned!!

The #catskills has a ton of great and accessible falls and cascades. Buttermilk Falls is no exception in the Peekamoose area to this. While a popular place (with a day use fee) I was able to get the vantage of the falls flowing down the hill.

Let me introduce the NiSi Natural Night filter that I tested on my Irix 15mm lens for astro photography. See more in my new video on Youtube!

More nighttime in the #easternsierra with the moon over Mount Williamson as seen from the Alambama Hills. Blue hour was REALLY hazy for the shot I was in position for, so I pivoted for this one while I waited out for the moonset here.

The Milky Way in motion—this is the sequence of shots I used to stack my bucket list astro photo. Captured in the quiet wild, where stargazing feels like time travel. Don’t miss the full #vlog from this night of wonder. #astrophotography #milkyway

Second version of my bucket list shot the other day. This is the same 251 star photos stacked in such a way to give me the trails with a darker foreground. Also make sure to check out the #VLOG for this trip.

The Stars!! All the stars!! Most people go to California for a different kind of stars, not me. Being able to see the galaxy and stars in such a great area was nothing short of AMAZING!!

Bucket List item checked off. Astro in the Eastern Sierra. The result of my first attempt at a #VLOG last week on Youtube. And I couldn't be happier. Besides logistics of traveling there, this wasn't difficult to plan with @photopills and @avenzamaps But, 251 star photos stacked to make this image.

Let's focus on the DETAILS by using the telephoto lens for some landscape photography as the sun goes down.

An epic side quest begins at, Walmart? Come with me as I embark on an adventure to get some photos that I didn't the last time I went to the Eastern Sierra.

A friend and former coworker had extended an invitation to check out a local park by him. He enticed me with diner food and waterfalls. How could I resist? Because of the weather we didn't explore long, but with this great cascade and area it is definitely high on my return list.

The best camera depends on what the photographer needs, using low light shooting as an example where a strong ISO performance would be essential and other options. Like and Follow for more. Check out the full video on Youtube.

Photography is filled with variables, such as location, lighting, subject, the story you want to tell, and even your mood, making it difficult to give simple answers.
