We’ve got about 5 billion years 'til the Earth is swallowed by the dying sun. 5 billion years of ideas, progress, innovation & cooperation.

Yet somehow you’ve convinced yourself that neoliberal capitalism is the pinnacle of human development.

Can't you see how absolutely ridiculous that is?
December 9, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Sure, but @zackpolanski.bsky.social has never claimed that. He’s said a wealth tax is one tool (not the sole solution) for improving living standards or tackling inequality. No idea where this ‘only measure’ narrative is coming from.
December 9, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Absolutely... Let me just switch my brain back to the setting where I accept more ‘fiscal discipline,’ endless austerity, rivers full of excrement, billionaire monopolies, working till I fossilise and treating home ownership like a mythological quest.

Thanks! I'm feeling enlightened already.

I'd be more impressed if we actually owned the trains rather than lease them from foreign pension funds at extortionate cost to the UK taxpayer.
December 8, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Funny how Keir Starmer now calls “nuts” the very policies he championed to win the Labour leadership.
December 7, 2025 at 4:37 PM
Nice to see an algorithm, unlike X, which hasn't been completely shafted by white supremacist trillionaire owners (yet)
November 24, 2025 at 10:51 PM
It's fucking laughable that there are still people out there who think Starmer's Labour have done a good job.
October 24, 2025 at 7:54 AM
Starmer's Labour would prefer to lose to Reform than partner with left parties (eg. Greens) to keep them out.
October 24, 2025 at 7:52 AM
Agreed. I left Labour and joined the Greens when Starmer won the leadership election. Plus, I've watched "The Labour Files" and understand what utterly wretched individuals have hijacked the party.
October 24, 2025 at 7:50 AM
Does seem unlikely I agree, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Once we lose the NHS we will never get it back.
October 24, 2025 at 7:16 AM
You can't rely on Starmer's Labour to implement this.

He's an establishment stooge.
October 24, 2025 at 7:15 AM
Agreed. This current Labour are as responsible as anyone for the rise of Reform. The only chance for Labour is Burnham in my opinion.

And yes, I mean ALL non-Reform parties, Labour included, agreeing to stand down based on opinion poll data close to the GE to stop Reform winning wherever possible
October 24, 2025 at 7:02 AM
Every party Vs Reform. We need crisis talks before the next election . Stand down where needed, unite where it counts. The UK can’t afford a Reform government, an NHS collapse and a slide into a US-style culture war circus.

Media, do your job @paulbrand.bsky.social

This is not an argument that should be given the 'both sides' treatment.

Lam's views on indefinite leave to remain are appalling and should be called out from all sides.
October 20, 2025 at 12:28 PM
I was at the conference when this was debated. There was almost total agreement that the aim isn’t to leave the UK vulnerable, but to lead on global disarmament when conditions allow and with NATO allies on board, not act alone.
October 18, 2025 at 1:35 PM
It’s accepted this would be a long-term goal, likely decades away (we have a cost of living crisis to deal with first!). The UK would aim to lead in reshaping global disarmament treaties like the TPNW, potentially among the first to disarm but as part of broader international progress.
October 18, 2025 at 1:35 PM
You are partly correct, however the Green Party supports NATO-wide reform, not unilateral UK disarmament. The goal is multilateral nuclear reduction and a shift toward peace and diplomacy, not the UK giving up its deterrent alone (which would obviously leave us vulnerable).
October 18, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Also, the 2025 conference has already happened.
October 18, 2025 at 12:49 PM
What makes you say that? We now support the UK staying in NATO but pushing for major reform, peacebuilding and disarmament. The old “leave NATO” stance was dropped & confirmed in the 2024 manifesto (so is a fairly new development with no further amendments currently planned)
October 18, 2025 at 12:48 PM
The Green Party supports the UK staying in the ECHR with full access to rights via UK courts. It backs continued NATO membership but seeks major reform with emphasis on peacebuilding, disarmament and human rights, rather than withdrawal.

Britain clings to its GDP ranking like it means something. Yes it's the 6th biggest but who’s thriving? “Trickle-down” trickled nowhere. I’d rather be 32nd like Norway and be equal, prosperous and content. Happiness isn’t measured in £billions.
October 10, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Do both. 1% above £10m is a no brainer also.

It's not all about raising tax revenue, it's about creating a more level playing field where multimillionaires can't monopolise assets such as housing to the detriment of working people.
October 10, 2025 at 6:00 AM
Of course
September 23, 2025 at 8:34 AM
Tell that to the chancellor mate.

I'm not saying it's rocket science, I'm saying maybe it's time our government started listening to the guy who's been right about everything re: the economy since 2008 and maybe implementing some of his ideas.

Good news for @garyseconomics.bsky.social Proven right again 😄 #taxwealthnotwork
