I was very sad when I learned thar there was only ever one Witchfinder General, so the plural was never needed

The hero is whoever suggested the name to Ellison, who was too dumb to notice he was being called out

Hold, and lose, a reunification referendum. Job done

So if they paid a chunk more tax they would just make it back again. Win,win - let's do it. But the comment is of course utter garbage and they would never have the same amount of luck again

So we've basically got a floating voter as leader of the labour party?

I still think in defence they did sensible things but got a bit unlucky, but yeah the midfield and forward buys made no sense. Buying Isak after Ekitike was dumb, and I still have no idea why they wanted Wirtz. Whatever happens next the squad needs major changes

They had 4 defensive problems to fix - TAA going, Quanshah not good enough, VVD getting old and Robbo past his best. Frimpong, Guehi, Leoni and Kerkez looked like great answers but 2 got injured, 1 fell through on deadline day and Kerkez struggling, so defence problems down to a lot of bad luck IMHO

Whenever a manager is sacked you can look back and see the game when it became inevitable, and I think tonight is that game for Slot. But I don't see how Salah plays for us again, and it is going to cost a fortune to sell Isak and Wirtz and buy the players we actually needed (DM, wingers x2, CD)

I want to say Thin Lizzy, but not sure they still exist let alone play

They are not doing this to make it easier to file a tax return, instead they are doing it to make it harder to file a false one. We can argue about who should pay for the software but that seems a pretty reasonable thing for HMRC to try to do

Really not sure people coming from the former colonies would agree with that

You have 25,000 followers, what if we all applied?

They want to play 3-5-2. Why else would you (a) try to buy a 5th centre back on deadline day (b) buy two centre forwards (c) buy a number 10 you didn't really need and (d) let two wingers (Diaz and Elliot) go without replacing them

I was lucky enough to be taught at Oxford by a man, Dr Michael Bowler, who was by some orders of magnitude the most intelligent man I have ever met. He had been taught by Feynman at Caltech and was in awe of his intelligence - if Dr Bowler felt this, then Feynman must have been extraordinary

Would have been nice if @theguardian.com could have found a picture of someone doing Physics, not Chemistry, to illustrate this article

Isn't the better question "why is the former Director of Public Prosecutions so keen on prosecuting and imprisoning people?" which makes altogether more sense
