The RSPB has a long history on Shetland. Once helping birds on Noss, we now create and manage vital nature reserves on islands like Fetlar for Red-necked Phalaropes and other wildlife, promote biosecurity for important islands, and protect incredible seabird colonies like Mousa. A brilliant team!

The RSPB nature reserve at Sumburgh Head on Shetland supports internationally important numbers of breeding seabirds, with Puffins, Guillemots and Fulmars benefitting. With so many threats facing them, protection of seabird breeding colonies is critical and why #30by30 on land + sea is so important

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, #SpeciesOnTheEdge is also helping wildlife like the Shetland Bee. We learned how to identify Shetland's native bees and about their ecology at the RSPB volunteers thank you event at Loch of Spiggie last week #volunteering
