Otherwise, we’ll spend the next four years arguing about whose fault it is for whatever acts of evil this next administration plans to do. Debate, argue, yell—that’s fine. Just don’t let that divide you. That’s what they’re hoping for and counting on.

Going forward, the biggest threat to democracy is division. I’ve agreed with many of the points I’ve read in these pieces, but never their conclusion that it was one single issue. People need to work together for an honest, introspective postmortem of this election.

What concerns me about these pieces is how they affect the overall discourse. If you voted for Harris or against that guy, there’s a good chance you share many of the same values as the people writing the opinion pieces you disagree with or argue with on social media.
