President Zelensky said that the new law was necessary to clear the organisations of “Russian influence” and improve the work of anti-corruption. Tonight, hundreds more protestors called on him to scrap the bill and restore the independence anti-corruption agencies.

The bill, signed by Zelensky on Tuesday places the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) under the control of Ukraine’s Prosector General, appointed by Zelensky.
