That's so true lol. There was a time I was trying to read everything Marvel, way before I had a job and kids and comics started costing $4-5 each. But even then, my bank account did not like it lol.

I mean, I get that, but they've done storylines around people not trusting superheroes (Civil War the biggest), and folks HAVE assumed Spidey and others were mutants at times. I know it's your opinion, but shouldn't opinions be grounded in what's in the comics? Most of what you said isn't there is.

everyone, usually pretty publicly, and they shout "MUTANT DETECTED" at any mutant, so any hero they haven't shouted that at can be pretty safely assumed not to be a mutant. Also, some of what you describe does exist, but more as a general hate/distrust of everyone with powers.

Prejudice rationalizes its inconsistencies, even when they aren't rational.

Wouldn't Africa be part of that too? If you loop around the Mediterranean Sea through the Middle East, you can go from Europe to Africa, and the Strait of Gibralter isn't even 8 miles wide. The Mississippi River is wider than that in parts.
