If it was multinational corporations in distress you could be sure Erin would resolve the issue immediately whilst ignoring workers in this case. The strongest tool workers have is withdrawing their labour, strike till victory, up the workers. #pensionparity

Get out to support the picket lines on Monday, a win for these workers can put manners back on this arrogant government inspiring other workers to fight back.

School secretaries are in a similar position. The caretakers and secretaries are vital to the functioning of our schools and deserve the same conditions as the other workers.

We call on Louth County Council to:
•Stop plans to halt 2026 rates for vacancy
•Increase rates to full 100% on vacant & derelict buildings
•Add identified derelict properties to the Derelict Sites Register

It only makes sense if you’re a multi property landlord or political groups that represent their interests, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

The council has the money to tackle vacancy but hasn’t used it and they haven’t bothered to collect any of the Derelict Sites Levy.

This is more of the same, landlord council and government looking after their landlord mates.

Whether it’s ignorance, cynicism or a mixture of both it doesn’t work. We’ve gone through the effort of making a graphic to demonstrate this, hopefully the government see this and take it on board but I doubt that.

If it was the landlords or bankers in crisis, you could be sure they’d be looked after immediately. Marginalised families and children are still waiting for answers.

In a society based on competition and exploitation the most marginalised disproportionately suffer. To challenge this we are building community and a society of care, get involved.

If this can’t be met, the government has demonstrably failed some of the most marginalised children and families in society.

We can't divorce mental health distress from the underpinnings of the economic system we live under. Capitalism produces isolation and loneliness, rising mental health issues will be endemic until we challenge the system itself.

Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the free state commit social murder by chronically underfunding mental health services, implementing harmful public policies and creating intolerable living conditions for many.
