I'm a hobbyist and professional coder, building everything from light up skirts for community ballet performances to event driven data buses for secure deployment pipelines. I also dance at and serve on the board of Metro Atlanta Dance Company.
@chriscoolblog.bsky.social Just watched The Present. Didn't think if it as a time loop at first, but it is a great example. The premise is a son gets an old clock that can set back time 12 hours. He uses it to try to keep his parents from divorcing. Highly recommend.

@gmskeptic.bsky.social Just watched your interview on Cults to Consciousness. Your comment on trying not to burden your wife during early years resonated. Been deconstructing 5 years, and it is a struggle not put everything on my amazing wife, and let her have her journey. youtu.be/kq8sM3FH7TA?...

Alright, after half a dozen hours of doing vibe development, I have found the first major failure with AI in my project. I noticed that a lot of code was starting to overlap in awkward ways, and so I asked for the code to be refactored. It set me back by more than an hour to re-implement a lot.

Added hostile npcs and collision mechanics. The more I code with AI, the more likely I am to not review the written code and just accept it as is. Truly getting int the #vibecoding

For the second tip of the week, Ms Jennifer of #MetroAtlantaDance demonstrates proper posture for a tire-bouchon.

Instability hurts the economy. I have heard this so many times, but it finally hits. Like, I understood it, but now I am experiencing it. I am attempting to make a career switch (engineer to consultant). Under normal conditions, this is risky, but not that risky. Right now though...

#diy Garage shelves. I had a ton of fun building these, and thought I'd share.

This is a few (~4) hours of work using AI to develop a game from scratch. I kind of regret not recording the process. #vibecoding #coding #casualcoding

For my 40th, we are touring Georgia. Last night we stopped in #jesup #jesupga. Yesterday was tiring, but we found a nice hotel called #theMallardArmsInn. Highly recommend for a historic stay.

Ms Jennifer of #MetroAtlantaDance gives her first dance tip of the week on where to focus during a Renversé. Hoping to see a lot more from her.

Was working on a video game (have no intention of finishing, but I like working with state machines for practice), and I needed tiles for the background. Claude won't generate images, but Claude will create scripts to generate images and then populate those scripts with image data. #vibecoding

Last night I wrote (or an ai wrote) a piece of code into my server that opens a file from GitHub, appends a bit of random text to it, then commits and pushes the change. Next, I need to add a chron job that triggers it 1 to 10 times a day. This is all part of the #vibecoding life. ;)

I was doing some studying on cryptids, and needed a term to describe a creature that can change in size, though not necessarily in form, at will. What does everyone think of Voluminous Autmutabilis? My second choice was "Magnatudine Autodynamicus." #cryptozoology #roleplayinggames #rpg

#casualcoding event planned for Arpil 12th. It's just a little meetup of coders from the area. Some professional, some enthusiasts. #casualcodingatlanta

I doubt anyone needs convincing here, but there are definately issues with the #greentiles of #GitHub. Between the brightest square and the dimmest, one is several pushes when finding typos on my resume page, and another is hours of debugging an auth service.

1 hour building out front and back end for GitHub SSO using #vibecoding. 4 hours debugging why my cookies aren't persisting. (Hint: They were and I just didn't understand cookies)

Decided to ride the vibes and setup an Auth0 login flow for my website. Of course it wouldn't be true vibing without telling the AI that "you can ignore that feature as this is a test setup." We all know the poc PoC eventually makes it to prod. #vibecoding

Decided to build an interactive section in my webpage using GitHub's SSO. I set up the oath app and built the login button manually. Decided to use cursor for the callback and credentials server. #vibecoding

I love going to coding hangouts, getting to meet a few people in a controlled environment while getting to tackle a little challenge. Every time I'm job hunting, or helping others find work, I swear I attend these more. Maybe this time... #coding #meetup #programming

My wife ordered some burgers from a local joint. There was a misunderstanding, and we got veggie instead of turkey. The veggie aren't bad, but when you're expecting meat...

The same thing at work, where after using a good AI tool, I have to move back to our internal one. It leaves me wanting.

Trying to write code using a stack-based paradigm (planning on building a new compiler later). I feel I should get paid to say this, but I'll do it anyways: Cursor is making this way too simple. #vibecoding
