Francophone German speaker, actually native Brit but citizen of everywhere - it's nice to be anywhere at my age. At ease in Argentina, France, Spain, Germany and even in good old Blighty. Questing after unknown unknowns.

You've got your memories, Kev, and he lives on in the memory of those who knew him and the next generations.

My dad died at 90 back in 2019. I miss him still, but when I look at his grandchildren I I so happy. Here is my son DJing at Wilderness last weekend.

2 Chainz sampled Tom Lehrer's The Old Dope Peddler 60 years after it had been recorded. Lehrer's response to the license request: "As sole copyright owner of 'The Old Dope Peddler', I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?"

A Manhattan made with a generous 2 oz of Bourbon (Elijah Craig) and a scant ounce of Cocchi, plus a dash of bitters and a Luxardo cherry, not to mention a twist of a very fresh orange. To my mind this is the greatest cocktail. (Cocchi is neither too sweet nor too bitter).

People are conditioned to believe that the pound is a symbol of 'civilisation as we know it', because it has been our currency for so long.

But it is only money, like this...

I remember the stock market screens and the gun shops in Basel.

Money!

I'd happily adopt the Euro to be better off!
July 10, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Yep: Brexit makes you poorer and that is what you voted for so we must respect that!
July 7, 2025 at 10:18 AM
And crass dishonesty.
July 7, 2025 at 10:07 AM
This needs to circulated widely.

Brexit hasn't made us better off, quite the opposite.

The problem is, those who suffer the most are also those most likely to be beguiled by Farage.
July 7, 2025 at 10:07 AM
Like Theoded beguiled by Wormtongue, Starmer has been beguiled by Glasman and McSweeney.

But this truth won't go away.

Do the chronically stupid not grasp that they have been made poorer?

I suppose not.
July 7, 2025 at 8:27 AM
I wish they'd focus on the fact that Brexit has made us poorer instead of distracting us with fear and loathing.
July 7, 2025 at 8:26 AM
This needs to be stressed at every opportunity. There are NO Brexit benefits. NONE. ZILCH. NADA.
