Officially too old for this shit but showed up anyway.
Somebody liked spending time with daddy while mommy wasn't home...no wonder Rupert Murdoch likes her.

To the second point, again, I'm not asking for poetry. I don't need onomatopoeia for assisting with troubleshooting or surface level research into a topic I'm interested in.

Having done some reading on your first point. It's a fascinating concept, hapax legomenon, but is it really that relevant to the conversation? It's essentially jargon with fewer steps. I have never encountered the idea before and have never seen it used as a metric for prose critique.

I have literally seen CoPilot execute a joke based on my current inquiry, tied back to a previous inquiry I made regarding a similar incident. And it landed the joke perfectly. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.

Is that any different than what we do with language and learning?

To the last point, since it is the only case where I have direct experience. An LLM can build word usage based on context, provided a history (aka memory) of previous conversations are stored for it to access.

We have a vocabulary that was ingrained into us through repetition and associative practice. We assign meanings to that vocabulary pretty much the same way. We construct sentences with that vocabulary on the basis of rules which we're taught through practice and exposure.

Is this not what LLMs do?

Guessing is a strong word. Languages have pretty solid structural rules, which makes construction of coherent sentences built around a desired data set not too challenging a task, once the baseline is established.

How is this functionally different from what we do?

Without a preliminary injunction, they're expected to fund immediately. Not that they will, nor is it likely anyone will be held to account. The appeal is a dice roll.

With a politician, that's good enough.

Speaking as an atheist, I have to tip the hat to this guy being one of the few to walk the fucking walk. Would actually take a pepper ball for this one putting in the legwork.

Damn, that's pretty screen accurate, from the Disney movie.

If we're not ready to kill them, we're not ready to beat them. So either lock and load or lube your anus. Those are the terms.

Too many people still think they're going to khumbaya their way out of this without spilling blood. They're fucking idiots.

The most useless accumulation of proteins and chemicals ever assembled by the human genome. A waste of skin, a thief of oxygen stealing breath from the deserving every time he inhales.
