During yesterday's #DnD game, our party encountered a young copper dragon. As soon as the DM mentioned it, I perked up and dashed to my board game shelf. At long last, I was able to use the model that @goblintwig.bsky.social commission painted for me two years ago.

#FlipToons by @thunderworksgames.bsky.social is a great twist on deckbuilding games. It feels innovative, it's inexpensive, it's portable & doesn't take up a lot of table space.

My 1st playthrough went slow as we stumbled our way through the unique mechanic. It ended with "now we get it... AGAIN!"
FlipToons, published by Thunderworks Games, coming September 2025. Small box, 20 minute playtime, 1-4 players.

16: #Shadowdark by #ArcaneLibrary. It's gotten so much attention in 2024 recognition. There's not much I can say that isn't redundant, aside from my opinion that the praise & awards are well-deserved.

But this is another book that a friend of mine wrote. I worked with Kelsey at an FLGS years ago.

Another example of a ruleset being adaptable, as I mentioned with the #Dishonored #TTRPG. The core rules are the same between the two games.

But Fallout leans heavily into the video game's mechanics. SPECIAL, perks, & hit locations are all here.

Around 2016 when #HeroForge had their 1st Kickstarter, the mini I designed & painted was inspired by a certain Chicago-based wizard/PI.

My 1st attempt at OSL effects.

Sadly the initial material HeroForge used was poor. Mini's now broken beyond repair.

Only got to play 2 hours of #IndianaJonesAndTheGreatCircle on Friday night due to a work project, but I'm hooked! Tonally & narratively, it absolutely looks & sounds like an Indiana Jones story should.

Gotta finish this project so I can lose myself in the game.

14: The #Batman Role-Playing Game (yes, that's how they spell it on the cover) by #MayfairGames, from 1989.

The #DCHeroesRPG was the first RPG I actively disliked in my early teens. Ii was too complicated & cumbersome to learn & execute.

So why do I have the Batman RPG? Because my friend wrote it.

A thread seeking suggestions/inspirations for future #minispainting!

Painted the skin & bones of my #ShadowsOfBrimstone undead with the Contrast paint Plaguebearer Flesh for thematic consistency.

When I get to the various Vampires, I want them to have the same visually distinct, inhuman skin tone.
