In Squid Game Season 2, the writers have the character Thanos speaking English to show that he is a piece of shit. Using language as a qualifier for doucheness... Ngugi would have been so proud. 😁

The Internet nowadays is a truly segmented entity. How am I only today finding out about the Afroman drama that lead to the songs "Will You Help Me Repair My Door" and "Lemon Pound Cake?!" Talk about tragic and hilarious in one fell swoop!

Author and lawyer Chuma Nwokolo reading from one of his titles in Nairobi on December 14. I'm holding my noggin to his right.

This was me at the launch of the "And Then What?" podcast in Nairobi yesterday. The new podcast curated by Ghanaian feminist writer Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah is where "journalism on the continent takes centre stage." Something to check out.

Is this really that hard to comprehend though?

Thus ends my thread of my 4,167.6 km journey from Windhoek to Nairobi which cost me much less than the US$200 I had budgeted for journey.

Our shuttle driver then changed Nairobi passengers to a Naekana Sacco vehicle which took us the rest of the way. That included stamping in at the border and being dropped off in the city.

The bus I booked from Mbeya to Arusha is called Kaprikorn (Royal Class) and it cost me Tshs70,000. It picked us up at 5:25am and off we were to Arusha town. It was freaking long journey man. We only for to Arusha just before midnight.
December 2, 2024 at 12:03 AM
Into Mbeya, the plan had been to find a ride to Arusha. It's too late and I have to find accommodations. I book a bus ticket and sleep at the Southern City Hotel. Clean and reasonable cost at Tshs20,000. Has internet too.

We arrive in Nakonde (in Tanzania it's called Tunduma) at 8pm in the evening. After passports are sorted I made it to the Tunduma Bus Station via Bajaj. That journey cost me Tshs1,000. A ride into Mbeya cost me Tshs5,000.

I stayed in Lusaka for a while and I started my journey again after a few days. My transportation out to Nakonde was Power Tools which cost me 499 Zambian Kwacha. The bus left Intercity Bus Station at 4:00am to the North.
(I later learn that this is the slowest bus north).
December 1, 2024 at 11:33 PM
We arrive at the Intercity Bus Station at 10pm, 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time. If you have your wits about you, you should be fine like me a huge black dude with an unruly beard. I downloaded Yango with the help of new friends and made my way to my accommodations.

When we made it back on the road, we saw the Kazungula Bridge the only one that spans for countries borders: Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
December 1, 2024 at 10:55 PM
We hit the road into Southern Zambia and the difference is evident. Namibian roads are much better. We hit a long patch of really bad road and the bus breaks down. We have to wait for an hour and a half to get back on the road.
December 1, 2024 at 10:53 PM
The way the Oasis Bus works is passengers change buses at the border. The new bus is of a much lower quality to the one that too us across Namibia.
December 1, 2024 at 10:52 PM
We arrive at the border post called Wenela - Zambia /Katima Mulilo - Namibia just before 8 am and do the passport stamping. We have been on the road since 3 pm the previous day. That's 17 hours already.
