And trade-offs means actual trade-offs. Not just “tax the rich and all will be well”.
I agree we should tax wealth more equitably, but if you think that’s a completely pain free and catch-all solution, then you’re not living in the real world.

And I say that as someone who is deeply sympathetic to their macro-level goals. But politics is fundamentally a game of trade-offs, and what *real* trade-offs are they prepared to make? That’s the thing I want to hear.

But on a serious note, a lot of progressives in cities really do underestimate just how many rural Tories very seriously see the Greens as their second choice - and have done for years.
