The reason Texas builds a lot of renewables is because it’s easy to build (interconnection and permitting) despite the state not having a pro climate approach. Apply that ability to easily build to places that also have pro climate approaches and deployment will be even faster.

Would love to be added, actively working on deployment of renewables at scale with Paces.

Prendergast wasn’t terrible but the lack of line threat from 10 meant their defence could just spread and soak us up. Crowley makes a half break on his first touch.

Most projects in MA are on the DG system so <25MWs; those projects are smaller capex and so appears they now have both the additional community engagement requirement as well as lack the state level streamlining option. I know SEIA is pro, but I’m struggling to see how this speeds anything up.

Anyways I am not even that bullish on DAC, just strange to see objections to the portfolio approach to climate, ie we literally need to try everything and make a ton of bets to have any shot whatsoever at a good outcome.

Very familiar, I worked on soil carbon capture via changes to farming practices for a couple of years. It is incredibly difficult to get farmers to change, to get diets to change. Not to say it should not be tried but these are really hard and having alternative bets like DAC is sensible.

Sure, but what do we do about the emissions already there? We need to get that out of the atmosphere even if we stopped all emissions today. So even if we were at a net 0 economy, DAC is still a backup bet on us not figuring out nature based solutions at scale.

Of course relying on DAC is silly, but it’s an important bet. Its potential to scale is where there is an overbuild of renewables that would otherwise be curtailed.Without it what is the plan to remove the emissions already in the atmosphere? Nature based solutions also struggle to scale to gigatons
